We had the best farm sitter ever! The whole family went to the first ever Homestead Expo in Big Lake a couple of weeks ago. And while we were gone, this little guy showed up! Thanks to our awesome former 4H’er farm sitter we didn’t feel the need to rush home and tend to the little guy. Mama Pippi did a great job and he’s doing just great.
When calves are first born the mother usually lays down for them to get their first nursing in. They don’t drink much at once, the milk fat is off the charts! Cow’s milk has about 4% milk fat, reindeer milk has 24% milk fat! Can you imagine all the butter you could make with that?! (It’s the secret to life you know, butter)
